Your purchase changes lives, allowing many women artisans to work from home, aided by a savings programs, education for girls, medical care, and other social welfare support.
Nestled at the foot of the Himalayas, the Association for Craft Producers (ACP) launched their nonprofit organization from Katmandu in 1984. Committed to a fair trade business model that enriches the lives of low-income women artisans, ACP ensures their handicraft production is backed by an adequate supply of craft materials; training in product development, management, and finance; and global outlets to sell products. Nepali artisans benefit from skills training, fair wages, a healthier environment, and more. Women's lives are improved as they become a vital part of their home economy and experience greater support and respect from their husbands and fathers. They also have access to social welfare benefits including savings, loan, and retirement programs; scholarships for girls' education; a medical allowance; and paid maternity and paternity leave. ACP today provides jobs and services to 500 artisans from 15 districts of Nepal.
As always, at least 10% of the profits from Elegance Restored are donated towards funding adoptions.
